Behaviour and Anti Bullying

We believe that the use of a positive, supportive behaviour management system, which operates within a well-structured and consistent framework, contributes significantly to meeting the needs of all children.

A Sense of Order

We aim to create a learning environment which is predictable and orderly, and from which children can develop a sense of independence and responsibility.

To minimise the potential for inappropriate behaviours to arise therefore, rituals and routines, such as how pupils settle into the classroom in the morning, or lead into assembly, as well as expectations of good table manners at lunchtime, are built into the school day in order to create a structure within which children can feel safe and secure.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Bullying is not tolerated. We prioritise creating a safe, inclusive environment where all learners can thrive. Our Year 2 and Year 6 Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are trained to maintain a safe school environment, lead assemblies promoting friendship and tolerance and support students during break and lunchtimes.

Inclusivity and high expectations for all

We pride ourselves on our inclusive nature and use our deep knowledge of each individual to motivate, encourage and care for them throughout their time at our school.

Code of Conduct

All members of our school community deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

Insults, disrespect and other hurtful acts disrupt the learning, teaching and ethos of our school community.

We wish to maintain a learning environment where a difference of opinion or conflict can be addressed in a civil and respectful way.

Aggressive behaviour of any kind – physical or verbal – is irresponsible and unacceptable as a way of interacting with others.

Where behaviour and actions are unacceptable within this context, clear support and guidelines from the governing body and the Local Authority will be used with recourse to legal and police advice, as appropriate. It is a responsibility that we welcome as a school to support our children, families and staff in this way.
