Welcome to
Orchard Community Primary School

Welcome to our happy, vibrant and inclusive school

At Orchard, we have the highest of standards, and pride ourselves on the creation of a stimulating, caring and well-organsied learning environment. Our exciting and challenging curriculum, full of creative arts, sports and personal/social development, brings learning to life through a wide-range of inspiring experiences and enrichment opportunities, enabling pupils to reach their potential and achieve excellence in both their academic achievements and personal growth.

As well as their excellent behaviour and positive attitudes, Orchard pupils are also known for their kindness. We place a strong emphasis on developing character; fostering a community where everybody is made to feel valued and respected. Going the ‘extra-mile’ to help children and their families, we are determined that our children move onto the next stage of their education with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to thrive.

We warmly invite all prospective parents to visit us and meet our dedicated team. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour.

Applications are welcome from families who live in and out of our catchment area.

What makes us unique

At our school, every child is known, valued and cared for. Because their wellbeing comes first, our children thrive academically and achieve SAT results that are above the national average. We believe in helping children to grow in character as well as knowledge, encouraging kindness, resilience and ambition. Strong, positive relationships between staff and pupils create a happy and supportive environment where every child can flourish. Bullying is never tolerated, and our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors in Year 2 and Year 6 help us to build a safe, friendly and inclusive school community.

Forest school starting autumn 2025

Forest School setting offers our children a unique opportunity to learn and grow through hands-on experiences in nature. It enhances confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills while fostering a deep connection with the natural world. Outdoor learning encourages physical activity, which supports overall well-being and reduces stress, helping children feel more engaged and ready to learn. Through activities like den-building, nature exploration and teamwork, pupils develop social and communication skills, boosting their self-esteem. By making learning fun and immersive, Forest School nurtures creativity, independence and a lifelong love for the outdoors, positively impacting both personal and academic development.
